Six-Word Story Research10/7/2019 The goal of a six-word story is to tell a novel, only in six words. The challenge usually requires the reader to assume what happened. Ernest Hemingway was the first to do this in the 1920's when he bet his friends he could write a story in six words. This challenge was where his famous six-word story, "For sale, Baby shoes, Never worn." came from. The story shares that the baby shoes for sale were never worn, leading the reader to believe the baby might have died during birth. However, there is no right answer to the story, which allows the reader to put their own take on the story. Six-Word Story Examples:
